Absenteeism for minor health issues coupled with a lack of access to healthcare impacted the success of students in low income communities.
UMI laid the groundwork for the planning and implementation of the first School-based Health Center in the 5th largest school system in Georgia by securing partnerships and ensuring stakeholder involvement.
We established the platform for community meetings; provided guidance and counsel to the school system's administration in varying capacities.
UMI connected members of the community to be served with public, private, faith-based, agency and community decision makers critical to project objectives. These decision makers included elected officials, private practitioners, insurance heads, and hospital officials. In addition, we facilitated discussions, identified assessment tools, researched funding opportunities.
Ensured timelines were met. Helped stakeholders maintain focus, energy, and enthusiasm by providing
assignments requiring specific outcomes. Enlisted the support of third parties to conduct assessments
and measure the success of overall project.
